A Little More About Me

On paper, I got my undergraduate in Theater at St. Edwards University in Austin, TX and graduate degree in Arts Administration at the University of Oregon, Eugene. My thesis was titled, "Rudolf Steiner and the Spirit of Art:  Romanticism, Modernism, and the Foundations of Eurythmy." Additionally, I studied at the University of Kassel, in Germany, and am bilingual. I still maintain I would have been an excellent art historian or counselor, and maybe will get a PhD in art history in another incarnation. I have lived in Germany, Texas, New Mexico, Oregon, Minnesota, and California.

The search towards wellness within my mind/body/spirit connection is not just a hobby for me, it is a way of life. After practicing yoga since the sudden passing of my father in 2002, I completed my yoga teacher training in 2011. I  had an 8 year yoga teaching career, spanning 4 states and many communities instructing kids, college students, adults and even the retired community. If I ever go back to teaching in a formal way, I will continue my certification with Integral Yoga Therapy where I completed an additional 2 year program focused on the therapeutic dynamics of yoga. The teacher/healer part of my life heavily informs my astrological practice.

I've worn many hats that lead me here including but not limited to: musician, actor, singer/songwriter, designer, seamstress, traveller, language enthusiast, tarot reader, foodie, graduate student, non-profit administration professional, digital marketer, francophile, server, home maker, plant lover, obsessive book collector, yoga instructor, and my favorite roles as mother, wife, and dreamer. My dream vacation is to go back again and visit relatives in Finland.

I am a sun Gemini, rising Sagittarius, and moon Aquarian. When not ranting about the stars, you will find me with my adoring Scorpio husband and 2 kids (Gemini daughter born in 2012 and Libra son born in 2020) either adventuring in the Central Texas Hill Country nestled outside of Austin, or hidden away happily in my cosy home with a pile of books.

Long Game

Nerd Stuff

I am a  western astrologer. I have study-assimilated various techniques and lean more towards a modern/evolutionary/psychological approach. I use Koch houses.  I am currently enrolled in a diploma program for Astrological Psychology in the Huber Method and will qualify to join the Association For Professional Astrologers International (APAI) upon graduation. I held membership with OPA from 2021-2024 and now joining the ISAR community,. In 2022, I was a scholarship recipient for the IAstrolger Conference, and completed a mentorship with astrologer Rachel Lang.

I am a dedicated servant to astrology, and self dubbed “astro nerd” since 2000.. As my client, you receive the benefit of my years of study, observation, and ongoing search for deeper meaning within the cosmos. My aim is to bring you the most valuable information to help you on your journey in the most digestible way possible, while being one of your biggest cheerleaders.

Media Inspo

Every day I am learning more and refining my craft. I am tapped into ISAR and OPA resources, Kepler College webinars, Ann Ortalee's weekly weather, April Elliot Kent's Big Sky Podcast, Chani Nicholas' Astrology of the Week Ahead, the Within Orb Podcast, The Astrology Podcast, and find new places to learn all the time.

There are also lots of cool astrologers on social media that I follow and I keep informed of various industry astrology groups. I appreciate old and new works, small and big ideas, experienced and newbie authors & practitioners alike. I am leaning in more and more to the astronomy facet of this craft and enjoy a good dose of science along side spirit, in general.

Hopes & Wishes

I’ve got some big visions about where I’d like to be in the future. I hope to establish a school network with my teacher, Mark Douglas, and bring more Huber to North America.

I hope to increase my event and retreat offering, dive into collaborations, write for publications, and teach classes. Maybe when the kids are older I can find time to get a pair of dachshunds and finally write some books.

More Ideas

Hopefully my Gemini daughter will take over my social media at some point which will free up some time to write as much as I’d like. I’d like to explore topics like Yods, midlife transits, empowering tweens and teens with astrology, infusing yoga and Ayurveda into astrological practice, and the transformative power of Pluto in people’s lives.

I'd also like to do more volunteer work for the astrological community, as time frees up and I get called to help and serve in new ways I didn't think possible.
